This is a slide that replaces the solid factory slide. It is a screen to help keep falling embers out of the fan opening. It also helps prevent the rubber flap or fan from melting.
If you have my charcoal grate, you don’t need this unless you want double protection.
This paired with the upgraded MB grate is a great way to protect the fan.
